Recalling out of Context
Stuart’s just finished his initial mix of the set we did at ‘Recording Studio’ as part of the ICA’s Calling out of Context event. And wow! It’s an immense, swarming cloud of darkness: an unholy morass of the blackest ambience, stilted funk, deconstructed metal and stomping industrial. It’s the first time we’ve done any recording with our latest member* EL Heath and we’re delighted with the results: his howling bottom end really helps anchor it all.
The whole thing’s about 40 minutes long and will probably be split up into three or four shorter tracks. We’re confident it’ll see the light of day before too long in one way or another- watch this space…
*of course, in a collective, the word ‘member’ takes on a different perspective.
Looking Back Over My Shoulder
It’s over seven years since we formed now. We’ve all toyed with the idea of writing a ‘history’, but it’d be so dull it’d be pointless. Instead, some kind of fragmentary genealogy will leak out on these pages over the course of time. Here’s the first shard: a ‘found video’ Mike put together for our track Drop from 2004′s untitled EP (Graham has it as 2003, I think it’s ’04). This is perhaps my favourite track from our early stuff…
This suggests it was ’04 too:

Number 34!
Changed!
Apparently we were better than the Dead Texan that year? Objectively.
